“Eternity is Now” - PCBW Fall Focus Study

What if …
… we stopped thinking about eternal life as something we can only experience after we die?
… salvation isn’t mostly about getting you into heaven but about getting heaven into you?
… we stopped thinking of Christians as those who profess beliefs about God and focused on becoming disciples who know God?
The theme of PCBW’s Fall Focus this year is based on John Ortberg’s book entitled, Eternity Is Now in Session. Most of us think of eternity as something that begins after we die. But Jesus doesn’t talk about eternity that way. In fact, Jesus defines “eternal life” only once, and in a way that has been largely lost in our day: “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (Jn. 17:3). This study will look at Jesus’ definition and the questions that flow from it:
Our Fall Focus study will involve three coordinated parts:
1. Sunday Morning: Our Sunday messages will focus on what eternal life really is about, and how we can experience it more fully in our lives.
2. Individual Study: Ortberg's book, Eternity is Now in Session will be available for purchase, and we are encouraging everyone to read it during our series. Books will be on sale for the bargain price of $10 - if cost is an issue, just let us know and we will get a copy.
3. Small Group Study: Our small groups (meeting on various days at different times) will also be going through a parallel video curriculum (a study guide is available for purchase for $7) and will be encouraged to go deeper in discussion by listening to Ortberg via video. If you are not in a group that will be participating in this study and would like to be, there will be room in some of our current groups, and some new groups will be forming as well, so please come by and sign up at the table in the lobby.
